Talking about mental health means creating opportunities for listening, dialogue and awareness — sometimes through simple and immediate languages that can engage people of all ages.

With this spirit, Dulcop International, through Bubble World, joined forces with Lions to mark World Mental Health Day, celebrated yesterday, 10 October.

The initiative “Lions in Piazza – The Mind Matters: Physical and Mental Health, Together” took place in Florence and Siena, bringing healthcare professionals into public spaces to provide information, dialogue and guidance, alongside activities dedicated to wellbeing, art and emotions.

Why soap bubbles?

Within the project, bubbles were much more than a playful or visual element. They became a language through which to explore lightness, emotions and awareness of the present moment.

A bubble begins with a breath. It follows a path that cannot be entirely controlled, changes direction with the air and eventually disappears.

This unpredictability lies at the heart of some of the educational activities developed for the project: following the movement of a bubble means experiencing something we cannot completely control, adapting to its changing path and appreciating the moment while it lasts.

The educational materials developed around the initiative use bubble play to explore ideas including flexibility, acceptance of the unexpected, observation and the value of the present moment.

Play as a universal language

The partnership with Lions also reflects a desire to explore the value of play beyond entertainment.
Throughout the initiative, soap bubbles became a simple and universal way to attract attention, encourage participation and approach complex subjects through a familiar gesture.

For Dulcop, supporting this initiative means helping to create moments where play can encourage connection, sharing and emotion, bringing the company’s experience with soap bubbles into a project designed for the wider community.

Because looking after our wellbeing can also mean learning to listen to ourselves, accepting what we cannot control and, every now and then, allowing ourselves to follow a bubble.
Breathe. Observe. Let go.
